Leif Erickson’s “the cheap seats”

“I chose ‘the cheap seats’ because the cheap seats are for the underdog, the working class, the poor, the scraping-by folks. The cheap seats are for people who are just happy to be in the same room with great art, even if their seats *are* in the last row of the balcony. The cheap seats are where you can laugh loudly and no one cares; they love it, in fact, and laugh with you. The cheap seats are where I’ve been parked most of my life, but it’s fun here. We cheap-seaters look around and discover we’re all sitting next to each other, and the seats don’t feel that cheap any more.”
